"Harry Potter" Vans!

Unless you've been hiding under a rock recently, you'll have heard that Vans have just released a Harry Potter line. These are for children and adults, and along with shoes they also have hats, socks, clothing and bags!

As soon as I heard that Vans were releasing Harry Potter shoes I signed up to the newsletter but also checked their website every morning to be sure I didn't miss out. One morning, when I had to be up at 6am to take my mum to work, I noticed that they were up so ordered some immediately!

I know some people are disappointed in the house shoes, and I'll admit if Ravenclaw's were more like Gryffindor I would have definitely gone with those, but I thought the non-house ones were gorgeous: I had a hard time deciding between the Snitch and Daily Prophet shoes myself. I ended up going with the Snitch, because they'll go with everything, and you also won't be able to see the muck as easily!

I am so excited to have my first Harry Potter shoes! I know Primark also do them, but I don't find them very comfortable, so I'm thrilled to shoes that show my love of Potter while being nice and cosy for my feet.

These shoes are not exactly cheap - when I saw the price tag I was surprised myself. But licencing is expensive, they are gorgeous and I was in need of another pair of shoes anyway, so I took the plunge. I ended up going for the Snitch shoes (£80) and the Deathly Hallows hat (£28). I would have really liked Ravenclaw socks or backpack but unfortunately they only do those in Slytherin or Gryffindor (damnit, wish I was more brave or cunning!).

The postage was free (over £35 I believe) and very fast. I ordered them at 6am on Friday the 7th and they arrived on Monday the 10th. The customer service team are also lovely - I emailed them just after placing my order, worried that they wouldn't arrive in time, and a few hours later I received a phone call assuring me they would. You don't get service like that very often anymore!

These are my first pair of Vans (I usually wear Sketchers because the memory foam base makes them SO COMFY) so I wasn't sure what size to get. I'm generally a 5-6, but Vans do half sizes, meaning more sizes to choose from! They do have a handy size chart though, so I measured my foot and used that and they fit perfectly! I was was a bit surprised to find you have to lace the laces yourself, but maybe that's just a thing that Vans do.

The packaging is stunning: just look at that box! 😍 I really like the new gold-on-white branding they're using.

I know what you're really here for though: a look at the shoes! PREPARE FOR PHOTOS!

I think these are the most beautiful shoes I have ever owned! I love everything about them: the gold bottom; the little wings; how the Snitch is on the laces. They even say "I open at the close" on the back. How perfect is that?!?

They will obviously need a bit of breaking in, but are pretty comfortable already! I am used to the memory foam in Sketchers, but these will be so cool for visiting Harry Potter filming locations!

(How do they have dog hair on them already?!?)

You can really tell a lot of thought went into designing these and I am definitely going to wear them constantly until they fall apart. Is it weird to wear shoes to bed? Because these shoes make me want to!

I also mentioned way back at the beginning (how did this get so long?! Oops!) that I also ordered a hat. I used to wear a lot of hats, but since getting a pixie cut, hats don't really suit me anymore. I do like wearing them in the summer to keep the sun off my face, and I was planning on trying to find a Harry Potter cap in Primark the next time I visited, so when I saw that Vans were also doing hats I thought it was perfect timing!

I might have gone with a Ravenclaw one if they had them, but alas, only Gryffindor and Slytherin again. It's enough to make a girl salty. So instead, I went with this Deathly Hallows one.

It actually surprisingly suits me, so it's going to get a lot of wear this summer!

(Excuse my dressing gown, haha!)

Did you get anything from the Vans release? I'd love to see!

I hope you all have a magical day! ⚡
